Messenger Cabernet Sauvignon

Wynns Coonawarra Estate Messenger Cabernet Sauvignon draws from the Messenger Vineyard at the southern end of Coonawarra's famous terra rossa strip. Planted in 1975, the vineyard is dry grown on deep soils.

Part of Wynn's Single Vineyard range, this wine is only made in years when the Messenger Vineyard represents the winery's top performing site. It is produced in limited quantities.

After fermentation, the wine typically matures for 18 months in French oak hogsheads and barriques. Around 20% of the oak is new while the remainder is 2-3 years of age.

Deep red, Wynns Coonawarra Estate Messenger Cabernet Sauvignon has juicy blueberry flavours and well integrated French oak framed by fine, elegant tannins.

An excellent example of medium bodied Cabernet. Cellaring potential is 20 years.
